DR. ROBERT P. KNETSCHE, M.D.

Dr. Robert P. Knetsche, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon fellowship trained in Spine Surgery. His practice is devoted solely to comprehensive spine care and spine surgery.

He specializes in treating spinal conditions and disorders where non-surgical treatments have not resolved the problem and where there exists a good surgical solution for your spinal disorder.

He is a strong proponent of minimally invasive spine surgery with the vast majority of his surgeries being done as minimally invasive procedures. He treats spine conditions in the cervical spine, the thoracic spine, and the lumbar spine. He also performs revision/complex spine surgeries when a patient may have worsened after a previous surgery, developed new problems, or has not completely fused. He also treats spinal fractures and performs spinal surgery for cancer of the spinal column. In addition, Dr. Knetsche performs his own therapeutic injections for painful spine and neurological conditions.

Dr. Knetsche graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994 and completed his residency through the William Beaumont Army Medical Center/Texas Tech University Orthopaedic Surgery program in 2002. He completed a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver in 2003.

Dr. Knetshce served in the U.S. Army from 1986-2008, his last duty station in the military was as a Lieutenant Colonel in the position of Chief of Spine and Neurosurgery at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany from 2003 to 2008. While in Germany he primarily treated war related spine trauma. He also served a combat tour in Bagram, Afghanistan as Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery in the 14th Combat Support Hospital.

Dr. Knetsche resides in Danville, Kentucky with his wife and three children.

ELLEN J. FLINCHUM, M.D.

Ellen J. Flinchum, M.D. is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine.

When pain interrupts your life, there are non-surgical measures that Dr. Flinchum can offer to help you get back to your daily routine. Her area of practice includes the medical management of spine, orthopedic and neurologic disorders, targeted and specific pain medications, physician directed physical therapy and long term pain control.

Dr. Flinchum has a special interest in treating patients whose pain is a result of their current and/or continued fight with cancer. She believes that proper pain control can help patients continue to lead a productive and fulfilling life while battling their cancer.

A native of Winchester, Kentucky, Dr. Flinchum graduated from the University of Kentucky Medical School. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since that time, she has practiced in Louisiana and Paintsville and Lexington, Kentucky.

Dr. Flinchum has two grown children and enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as watching UK basketball.

JUSTIN B. CECIL, P.A.-C.

Justin B. Cecil, P.A.-C., is a certified Physician Assistant and has completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown College. He continued his medical training in the Physician Assistant program at the University of the Cumberlands and graduated with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.

He is a current member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants. 

Justin is a native of Lexington, Kentucky and enjoys boating, various sports and spending time with friends.
